Memorial memories

I’ve been struggling to get back to real life after my too-short holiday weekend, but I figure it’s now or never if I want to compile a Memorial weekend photo diary.  My boyfriend and I decided to spend the weekend in Las Vegas, but the 1 hour plane ride that we are so familiar with, turned into a 9 hour car ride (thanks holiday traffic) when our flight was cancelled.  The drive to Las Vegas is really not that bad seeing as how California and Nevada are neighbors, but when you combine normal LA traffic with a holiday, things are about to get messy.  Regardless, I came back with a few items that made the trip well worth the drive.

The beginning of every trip starts with me saying goodbye to this little face, which is one of the hardest things to do.

My view for too many hours…desert…and more desert.

Finally the Las Vegas view we all love.  My view from the Encore Hotel, one of my favorites.

And my favorite part of Las Vegas, hands down…the shopping!  I stared at these Charlotte Olympia shoes for longer than necessary.

While I couldn’t bring those beautiful shoes home, I did pick up some classic nude YSL Tributes.

Now for the trip home…

Finally some ocean.

And a little Memorial Day pool time to finish off the weekend.

Buy one, buy all: Impulse shopping

Do you ever buy one article of clothing, and then you buy a pair of heels, and then you realize you need that matching whatever, so you buy that too.  Then next thing you know, a good chunk of your checking account is gone?  I sometimes feel that once I start shopping, it kick starts my shopping addiction, and I feel the need to buy absolutely everything on my wishlist.  This is a slight problem for me, especially since I am saving for surprise number 2, which I still can’t mention quite yet.  In my defense, I love all of my impulse splurges, and it all started with a ruined Bobi tee (my favorite basic).  The next thing I know I have 6 Bobi tees in my online shopping basket, (a few on pre-order), a Helmut Lang Jacket (that in my defense, I have wanted since winter), and a unique pair of Habitual coated jeans that were just delivered today.  Pictures coming soon!

Just so you know: Revolve Clothing is my favorite place to find the Bobi tees, they always have the best colors.

Rag and Bone, you got me again.

Rag and Bone, I just can’t resist you.  But I don’t mind one bit, especially since these little beauties arrived today, just in time for the weekend!  I promptly ran to the “cloffice,” ripped open the box, confirmed the fit, and wore them for the next 30 minutes while staring at my closet and trying to mentally construct the outfits that I’ve been waiting to wear with these booties.  I’ve searched for the Rag and Bone Newbury boot on multiple occasions, but my size and color preference never seemed to be available.  Until now…

My new shoe excitement has me searching for summer outfit inspiration, and wondering, what’s your favorite way to wear a Newbury or Newbury-ish bootie?

Dedicated to red

As I was browsing through my iPhone photos from the past few days, I began to notice a theme.  Without realizing it, I had dedicated a chunk of iPhone memory to my favorite color, red.  So today I decided to Instagram my day, focusing on all the shades of red that I came across.  Because it’s a school day I didn’t see any red soled shoes (darn), but I found plenty of other reds that caught my attention.

Searching for a pre-class snack.
Benches on campus.  Originally red, now faded to an orangish shade.
A little bit of color on in an otherwise all black interior.
Red Bobi top, Burberry sunglasses, and a bit of my reflection.
